New Product Addition - Provider Search, Treatment Cost Estimator, and Provider Review Tool
Overview:
This was an "above the line project" and a board goal implementation due to launch before the upcoming new year. As part of a collaborative team of developers, data analysts, project manager, systems architect business analyst, and user experience design we were to provide a combined tool that would allow for greater transparency to consumers under the law by providing estimated costs for treatment. We also provided a geolocated search for providers for the web and mobile application.
Our Users:
Members and non-members as defined as those who are potential future members, or caregivers, that may be looking for providers or costs for members or themselves.
The Task:
I came into the project when it was already in motion. I planned to provide consultation and least invasive recommendations where I could during development, and to not disrupt the delivery date. I performed user testing to provide an opportunity for prioritized backlog items if we have an extra sprint before launch, and to provide critical usability issues to address during our vendor warranty period.
The usability testing had exposed some critical usability issues, among one test 0/8 partcipants were able to find a primary care provider using the tool.
